BIKE DAY DETAILS
Join us Wednesday May 6 for Bike, Walk, Roll to School Day! We will have a north and south "bike bus" where you can hop on and roll with neighbors to school drop off. We are looking for route support and "walking bus" leaders who want to set up a walking route and join in the fun. Students on busses will have a chance to participate as the busses will disembark at the corner of Folwell & Lena Smith that morning and parent volunteers will escort the students in a group walk to the school entrance. This is a fun nationwide event to encourage getting outside and moving your body on the way to school. We have lots of ways to participate and you can signup here to take a short shift to help make this a great event for all.
*The bike bus is just in the morning. You and your child are responsible for getting home from school independently*
Rules and Guidelines for Safety while Biking (Please note this is a RIDE AT YOUR OWN RISK event):
- Check your bike prior to the ride to ensure it's in safe, working order
- Wear a helmet
- Follow all traffic laws & safe practices
- Adults will be present to ensure a safe ride but the volunteer organizers cannot be responsible for each rider-please ensure your child is either riding with a parent, trusted adult, or has experience biking safely and independently to school
- Listen to the adult leaders on the ride and follow all directions
- Bring a bike lock and remember to lock your bike when you arrive at school
- Have fun!

South:

- Meet at 9am at the Cleveland Overlook at W River Parkway and E 44th St
- Depart 9:05 and follow the parkway North up the River Road bike path
- cross at 42nd street
- 9:10 stop at 42nd and Burton
- turn left at Burton and Northrop
- turn right at Northrop & Morrill
- 9:15 stop at Morrill and Folwell
- turn left onto Lena Smith and finish at the school entrance
North:
8:45am Route Guide Karn and Lisa 651-600-4616 meet at Matthew Park, Southeast corner, ride together to Brackett via the Greenway
9:00: depart Brackett Park, heading south across Lake street on 39th Ave.
9:03: turn left on to 32nd St meet Route Guide Emily 402-699-4739
9:05: pick up from Cooper Park, NW corner (32nd st + 44th Ave S)
9:08: turn right on to Lena Smith Blvd
9:12: Stop at 36th st + Lena Smith Blvd
9:15: Arrive at Dowling Elementary
